Just finished reading a mystery!

I woke up this morning to finish reading the last few chapters of Written in Blood by Sheila Lowe. It was only like four chapters left last night but I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore even though it was one of exciting parts! Oh well. Check out my review of this book on my other blog!

Like what I mentioned in my review, it's not all blood and gore in the story. I don't really know why such a title was picked either. But yeah, you can expect from the book a whole lot of mystery, suspense and a romance thrown in. Quite a quick and engaging read.

Now, what do I want to read next? Give me a moment. I'm gonna get up and walk over to the bookshelves.

...and I'm back. I picked out Dead Girls Don't Write Letters by Gail Giles. I bought this book around two or three years ago on eBay. Just now I was visiting the blog, Presenting Lenore and she mentioned this book in one of her posts. So I have decided to read this today.

Better World Books - Free shipping worldwide!

This may be a bit late but good news! Better World Books is now offering free shipping worldwide, just like what Book Depository offers!

Before this, Better World charged a shipping fee of USD3.97 per book. They had all these bargain promotions where you can buy a number of books at USD15 but then since I come under the 'outside US' category, there's the USD3.97 per book to think of.

I loved Better World before this because they had a great selection of old and new books (I bet they still do now) at affordable prices. I'm looking forward to shop for books there again.

What I read last week

I'm quite surprised but so far, January has been a pretty good reading month. I try to read on my off days instead of only watching TV! Nothing really spectacular, just good enough for me though I still hope to read more books!

It's been a YA reading month. :) Here's what I read so far (click on the links to read my reviews):

The Macbook Air craze

It's not mine! Picture taken from here.

Do you own a Mac computer or laptop? I don't. I've been using an HP Compaq laptop since 2007 (I think) and it's served me well even until now despite a few mishaps over the years.

Anyway, the new Macbook Air has caught my attention (whose isn't?) simply because, well, it looks really sleek and cool. I admit that I found myself getting caught up with all the 'thinnest laptop in the world' kind of hype and have been salivating to own one myself.

But it's so pricey and I wonder if I should get a Macbook or another brand of laptop. I did a search on Google for reviews and there were so many that I got even more confused. I understand that I should get the laptop that meets my needs.

Oh well, I hope it'll just be a phase for me. I'll just wait. In the meantime, any thoughts on Mac products? :)

Book journals you might like to have

You know, I really like the idea of keeping book journals though I never got round to keeping one. Last year, I was fortunate to receive a copy of Read, Remember, Recommend by Rachelle Rogers Knight but haven't filled up any of the pages yet. Hey, even my quote has been listed on its page on Amazon!

"The journal is reader-friendly with an attractive cover that book lovers can identify with. (Books Love Me)"

It was taken from my review of the journal.

Anyway, I just came across a few other book journals which I thought you might like to see too. There are more out there but take a look at the ones below:

Books from my Secret Santa!

It's a bit late to be posting this but I received the two books above through the Book Blogger Holiday Swap!

The simply awesome Audrey Baker sent me:
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
How To Deal by Sarah Dessen

Thank you so much Audrey! Your choice of books is excellent and I can't wait to start reading them. :)

Awesome Tumblr blogs!

I am in love with the microblogging platform Tumblr! Honestly, I was not very sure what was its function. I mean, how was it so different from Blogger or Wordpress? But now I totally get it and it's one of my best discoveries. :)

Here are two very cool Tumblr blogs related to books:
http://prettybooks.tumblr.com/
http://lifeonprint.tumblr.com/

I'm sure there are more but I was completely overwhelmed with the content and pictures from both blogs I just had to share with you guys.

Books aside, here's a Tumblr blog on fashion!
http://fashionsociety.tumblr.com/

Who would say no to colourful fashion pictures right? ;)

Now I'm thinking. Should I start my own Tumblr blog? If yes, what would it be about?
